Oh! Here I am!

Sheesh… this blogging thing really is addicting. It’s been almost a month since I’ve written here. So much has been going on… some big stuff and some stuff that has just kept me from doing anything for myself… I haven’t shared pictures with you in a while so…. here we go with the lists… I love lists…

First off, NASHVILLE!!!

I got to see all those super important people I see whenever I can slip away from here.

The Liesel and myself being us…. she is my besty

My darling Levi J. with his Uncle Joe

My Sweet Shannon, Levi’s Mommy and one

of the closest people to my heart

Boles and Swiesel… these are the ones I go to

if I ever need to laugh.

Came home from Nashville missing Macky:

Saw a Rainbow…or two…

Had a wonderful Momma’s Day!

And now I am pooped… the few things going on in between all of that were tough. Things like Scarlet overcoming a funky throat thing, Joseph getting a new job (wahoo!) and all the adjustments that come along with that, and planning a super-duper fun conference that is coming up…

Happy Spring to you!!!

Ok… so it’s been 2 whole months since I’ve blogged… how horrible. Life has been exciting, challenging, and amazing. With this sweet new edition to our lives everything takes twice as long and is twice as hard to do. But I believe we have finally adjusted.

So much has happened. Trips to Tennessee and Georgia, lots of winter recipes being cooked, raking leaves, picking out and bringing home our tree, and Joseph sang a Christmas carol last Sunday that was incredible…. all of which I wish I had blogged about at the time that it happened… but I will try to make up for it.

Special People

We drove an 8 hour trip to Atlanta in the early morning hours on Thanksgiving Day. It took us almost 12 hours to get there. I would love to say that it was the traffic or the baby’s fault that it took so long… but no… we were both so very tired by the time we actually got in the car that we stopped and slept. 🙂 We were so very glad to finally be there. I had been waiting so patiently for Turkey Day to come so that Scarlet could meet some of the most special people in my life. We had SO MUCH FUN! Nana and Shannon did such and good job on Thanksgiving dinner! They blessed us so very much. They gave us our own little Christmas! They sat us down and handed us all the presents under the tree. We were so suprised! They picked out beautiful outfits for Scarlet, leapord skin boots, and we got a wonderful, cozy blanket that now lays over our couch. Oh! …and thanks to Gary, for the coffee for the road! It’s the only thing that got us home. I’m sippin’ on my Christmas Blend right now. 🙂

Shannon, Scarlet, and I

Levi, Heaven, and Scarlet

Granddad, Nana, and Scarlet

The day after Thanksgiving, we drove a little ways to see my best friend, Liesel and her family. I hadn’t seen her since May. It was amazing to spend time with her and realize what an incredible friendship we have, even from far away. Scarlet loves her crazy Aunt Swiesel!

What amazing people God has put in my life. It was a cool thing to see them love my family just as much as I do, even from far away. I love that. I love them.

Gah! Now I’m all teary… I hate being miles away from people when they are so close to my heart.

We went to Tennessee for a few days when Scarlet was only a couple of weeks old. My mom, Joseph, Scarlet, and I packed up and headed well… northwest. Anyways, we had so much fun. I learned how to change diapers in my lap. (Mom is full of great advice 🙂 My Grandparents oowed and aahed over her and she just loved it. Momma-too made me some knit dishcloths. She gave me some last year and I just love them. Yay for more! Paw gave me tomatoes and peppers from his garden and a jar of apple butter. The tomatoes mostly went to tomato sandwiches. Fresh tomatoes are the best for these. The rest went to yummy sauce… mmm. The apple butter is still being enjoyed. Most recently on my homemade bread that you will see in a bit. I absolutely LOVE fresh veggies! So then, on our way back, I am changing Scarlet’s diaper in the car (I mastered this skill by the end of the trip) and her blue bellybutton grossness fell off right on me. I flipped out and swore she was in pain and Mom just laughed at me. Then it got thrown away in a dumpster at the gas station. Mom says it’s a great story to tell her when she’s a teenager. 🙂
We had an incredible trip! I miss them all. Christmas is coming too soon!!!
